I
am a licensed landscape architect and a lifelong artist, lover of the outdoors,
natural and cultivated landscape, all things vintage, rusty, crusty,
re-purposed, and homegrown, of course!
I love the outdoors; I am a big believer in finding more
ways to live my life outside and in helping others to create their own
lifescape in the landscape. Not only was I raised with a huge appreciation for
nature and wildlife, but for the cultivated landscape, as well. I have a
passion for growing plants and growing my own food.
I love design, artful design. Not only am I a landscape
architect, but I am also an artist. It’s important that I infuse my work with
artfulness. For me, it’s all about the design connection – that’s why I get up
in the morning, and ride that tiny trike!
When you work with Artful I, you are not just getting a design. You are getting a great design that’s seen through the artful lens. With an artful eye, Artful I am I.

The Serious Stuff
In 2000, I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture from Clemson University. In 2003, I also graduated from Lander University with a Bachelor's Degree in Visual Arts. I have worked for numerous planning and landscape architectural firms, where I have gained over 11 years of experience in the field. In 2007, I became a licensed landscape architect for the state of South Carolina.
I really enjoy crafting my blog posts and photographs, and putting this information out into the world. For me, it is equal to an artist's and designer's medium. I use it to express my creative ideas and inspirations. I hope that you, too, will find it equally insightful and inspiring!
